Description

This Slip On rocker bottom fits 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra crew cab trucks.

Rocker panels take a beating from the elements and road debris. They are some of the first body panels on your vehicle to start showing signs of wear, and will usually be one of the first panels to rust out. If you’re thinking “I’d rather fix my rust than buy a new vehicle”, you’ve come to the right place.

The stamping process starts with a 3D scan of an OEM part, which means that these aftermarket panels will be an exact match to the original part’s shape. Since the panels are an exact match, the old panel will need to be cut out so that the new one can be welded in its place. The exception to this is slip-on panels. Any panel labeled as “Slip-on” can be placed over top of the original panel, and secured with an adhesive, like Silaprene, rivets, welded, etc.

Each panel is also galvanized for additional corrosion protection. The galvanizing leaves a silver finish that can be scuffed and painted over.

Whether you need to replace the driver side, passenger side, or both, we have the parts that you’re looking for. Fix the rust on your rocker panels by ordering this  1999-2006 Chevy/GMC crew cab slip on rocker bottom from Raybuck Auto Body Parts today.

A You'll just hold it up over your rocker and trim it to fit what you need. I didn't need the entire rocker so trimmed off the ends and the top just for ease of installation. At that point, you can either weld them in, or use 3M structural adhesive and screw them into place until it's. Ired. Then, just grind the screws down. I prefer the glue method since it won't leave any weld burns on the inside but to each their own.
    2. This panel does not appear to be the whole rocker and is a slip on. Excuse my ignorance, I don't know what that means. Is it a glue on or weld patch piece? I am restoring a 2002 cladded avalanche and am going to do the weld patch on the front and rear lower quarter panel on driver's and passenger side. The rocker panel is also in need of patching as there are 6" holes at the rear wheel well. Will this piece be adequate?

Answered by the admin The part may have to be cut down to fit the Avalanche. The rocker bottom is just that, the very bottom of the rocker. It does not extend up into the door jamb. The rocker is only meant to cover the area under the door and not the lower quarter panel sections between the door and wheel opening . A slip on panel is mean to go over the existing panel. It can be attached by welding, rivets, screws or adhesive.
