PART#: 4740L STARTING AT $777.53

The fill tube is a little larger than the original size so that an original pipe will fit and seal properly (since they tend to stretch). To install an original pipe, steadily push the pipe at an angle and then upward. You may also apply a little grease or lube around the fill tube to assist.

The original sending unit should be a lock-ring style.  This tank does not have tabs like an original steel tank. Use the supplied bolts to bolt the original sending unit directly to this tank. See attached pictures for views of an original lock ring and sending unit installed in this tank.

*Tank is designed to be used with collapsible sending unit. If the sending until does not go all the way into the tank do not force it. *

Description

Is your Ford Super Duty suffering from the Ford fuel tank delamination problem?  If so, order this 2011-2015 Ford F350-F550 Super Duty Series “Diesel Only” 40 gallon rear polyethylene fuel tank. This tank does NOT include sending unit, an EMS valve, EMS valve gasket, straps or skid-plate.

Each tank includes a specifically designed sending unit gasket (4740L-OR), 7 new bolts/washers, a tube of thread sealer & EMS valve plate with 6 bolts. Sending unit opening is approximately 4 5/8″ in diameter. When installing the original sending unit, make sure the fuel bowl sits properly in the bottom of the tank and use the original lock ring to hold the sending unit in place with the provided seven bolts (See bolt pattern image). Make sure to coat each bolt with the thread sealant. Do NOT use the OEM sending unit gasket.

If you have a 6.7L diesel engine, you may have a larger diameter sending unit, so please measure before you purchase this tank. Some 6.7L sending units had metal tank with a 5 1/8″ opening and a 5″ diameter sending unit. If necessary, the sending unit opening in this tank can be trimmed out to 5″ using a fine tooth saber saw blade. The tank’s bolt pattern and inside fuel bowl depth will accommodate the larger sending unit.

This diesel only poly tank will directly replace your existing tank that was damaged due to delamination. It fits 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 Ford F350, F450, F550 Super Duty pickups.

If you’re one of the lucky ones that have one of these Ford Super Duty trucks and have yet to encounter the delamination problem, you may want to seriously consider replacing the factory tank now in order to avoid the potential damage caused by delamination.  We researched this delamination problem and wrote an article about it to help our customers make a more informed decision about whether to replace their tank or not.  You can read the delamination article here.

*All polyethylene tanks come with a 5 year manufacturer warranty
