    My 1952 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup has the original behind-the-seat gas tank cradles and straps. The after market gas tank that came with the truck is about 8 3/4” deep (front to back) and seems to fit on top of the cradles, not down in the cradles. Is this the way the factory set things up? Are the after market gas tanks deeper than original?

    There are holes in the same place as where factory holes were located.
