For k5 blazer, Filler neck is all wrong. Straps in kit are all wrong. Even with a $50 fuel filler hose, it still won’t fit without surgery on filler neck. Total disappointment. Contemplating drilling frame & moving tank forward, so filler hose fits.

Shawn, we were unaware that the tank straps needed to be re-shaped to fit the tank (due to how they are packaged for shipping) and have updated the product description to reflect this. I didn’t see a note from you regarding the filler hose location, though. Can you send pictures of this so that we can figure out why it’s not fitting your Blazer? Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve, sorry for posting 3 different reviews. When I did it, there was no comformation that my post was accepted & it didn’t show up at all, so I assumed it didn’t work etc. & tried it again. I was not happy, as you can see. I did concider that the straps could be bent to fit, It just didn’t seem right, and it would have knocked off all the black paint & the right angle bends (on ends) didn’t seem right either. Also, they are not even close to the same design as the original straps, which I cleaned up and re-used. Now, on to the filler neck issue. I’ll send you pics directly, & what you’ll see is that the tank is very good reproduction, except the filler neck. It’s completely different than original which creates problems. 2wd trucks may be fine, but the original neck bends around the leaf spring gusset on the frame (4wd models). It is 1-3/8″, same as orig, but the neck on this tank ends up directly behind the gusset, with zero room to attatch the new (expensive & longer) fuel filler hose. I should just post a youtube video of instalation, as the one that comes up uses a factory original tank and dosen’t address these issues. I ended up moving the tank about 1-1/2″ forward and re-drilling the frame, so the new longer fuel filler hose would fit & not kink. All is good now, but it took some modifications. I apprectiate your customer service & the fact that you actually care. I’ll try to delete 2 of my duplicate reviews.

Thanks for the info Shawn. We’ve been selling this tank for awhile and haven’t received this type of feedback. It may very well be a difference between the 2WD and 4WD models. I’m going to talk with our manufacturer about it as well. If you want to shoot a video and send it to us, we’ll post it on our YouTube channel and link to it on this part page as well. I’ll take care of the other two reviews for you.

The fuel neck position is behind the body mount on the Jimmy/Blazer, so you have to come up with a means to go around the mount. It is not a factory duplicated design.
