1973-1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40 polyethylene fuel tank. Direct replacement under seat tank for 9/1973 to 12/1978. Fuel pickup tube is installed on the top of the tank. Includes new 5 hole sending unit gasket.
This poly tank fits 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40.
*All polyethylene gas tanks come with a 5 year manufacturer warranty.

Given that the old/original steel tank had been repaired more than once, and had developed another leak, I am certain that the plastic tank will be an advantage. It will be for diesel fuel, and because my 1991 Dodge diesel has a plastic tank, I am expecting good service from this tank. The Toyota tank has the advantage of being completely enclosed by sheet metal; whereas the Dodge tank is slung underneath and outside. I am expecting to use aluminum tubing with rubber fuel line joints to compensate for the “hose barbs” that the plastic tank comes with. I am expecting the best from this tank.

Had to replace/ reposition hoses and modify tank shield a little, but fits under seat like original. Definitely recommend. Quick delivery as well.

Tank is a thicker poly. The hose hook ups are in different spots so you will need to run new hoses. Great alternative to the metal tank.
