Description

If the seat cover in your Jeep Commanche is ripped or worn, order this 1986-1992 Jeep Comanche Pickup Bench Seat Cover, Closed Back to make it look new again. This isn’t just a seat cover, it’s a true upholstery kit that you can install yourself. This ready-to-install kit is designed specifically for your factory original frame and is not a universal cover. It is made of the highest quality, auto-rated materials and will completely replace, not cover, your existing upholstery. With it’s fully foamed back, this kit will help in restoring your auto interior to a comfortable and clean new look while saving you hundreds of dollars (If you need to replace the original seat foam, please see our seat foam repair kits. Seat Foam Repair Kits). Each kit includes installation directions, and the hog rings and pliers required to secure the kit to the seat frame. The kit does not include a replacement seat pad. Each kit is custom made in the U.S.A., based on your selections, and is shipped directly from the manufacturer to you in approximately 4-5 weeks.

Unless otherwise noted, this style fits bench seats without headrests. For any non-bench seat, or seat with a headrest, please see individual product description for available options.

The cover will have a zipper that runs the width of the seat. The zipper end must stay on the inboard side of the frame on both sides. The long tail on the zipper on each side allows for a larger opening to make it easier to install, as the zipper does not come apart at the ends. The extra length gets tucked in out of sight after the zipper is closed.

On original upholstery, the OEM zipper is made to exact length and fully comes apart. This requires specific manufactured ends on the zipper so they can fully open and come apart. A continuous zipper is used in the aftermarket. It is cut to the desired length and then closed at both ends by sewing.

  • Closed Back – This is optional for standard cab pickups but required for extended cabs, crew cabs, and Suburban front seats. As it sounds, the seat cover wraps around the entire back of the seat.

PLEASE NOTE:

Due to variations in computer monitor settings, we recommend that you request a fabric swatch of the material type and color that you like so that you can see and feel it. To request free samples, please click on the request sample link. Because this is a quality custom item made to your specifications, no returns are allowed for dissatisfaction with fabrics, colors, or styles. Very nice, and saved me the time/money on taking it to a upholstery place. Easy to install and it looks great, even gave my truck some “new truck smell” Came with lots of the hog rings and a set of the pliers to install them. Do let it set out in the sun for a bit and get loose, it will help you get it stretched to where you need it to. Original seat was vinyl and my truck has no AC, look forward to less sweaty back with this new cloth cover!

I bought this to replace the cover on my 89 Comanche bench seat. I’m very happy with the quality, appearance, and accuracy of the cover. It fit well and feels great. The colors look just as good as I hoped when I ordered the samples. There were two small issues, this cover doesn’t have the passthrough for the seatbelts, meaning I have to run them between the seat back and seat bottom rather than through holes in the seat bottom. I have no issue with this as it’ll make the bench look cleaner anyway. Also, the zipper for the seat back cover should have been open on both ends but was open only on one. We had to remove the stitches from a piece of leather at the end of the zipper and replace it. It was a small issue which took 15 minutes to fix, and could likely have been avoided if I had wanted to take the seat back frame apart a little more.

If I ever need another seat cover for this truck I will definitely be coming back to this. The appearance is slightly different from factory, but nothing I have issue with.

Would love to upload a picture but the site is denying my attachment.

Answered by the admin Hi, sorry I don't know the colors. The picture is not a vinyl cover and is only there to show the style. There have also been color changes over the years, so this may not represent the colors that are currently available. We do recommend getting material/color samples prior to ordering.
