Rust doesn’t discriminate. It forms on almost every vehicle and on every exterior steel body panel. If you’re vehicle is exposed to salt spray, it’s most likely going to rust even faster, and usually by the time you see bubbles the situation is a lot worse than it appears. A lot of body panels will rust from the inside out, so those paint bubbles are like the tip of the iceberg. Poke it with your finger and all of the sudden you find a hole that goes completely through the panel. There’s also a good chance that the body panel behind or next to the bubbled one is also rusted. All of our rust replacement body panels are stamped steel. The stamping process starts with a 3D scan of an OEM part which produces an OEM-like fitment. The old panel will need to be cut out so that the new one can be welded in its place.
Each panel has a protective (EDP, Galvanized, etc.) coating for additional corrosion protection. The e-coating leaves a black finish that can be scuffed and painted over. For additional rust protection, we offer ZeroRust which is a rust-inhibiting paint, as well as a selection of undercoating materials.

The profile of this part is a precise match of the factory body in every way. For my project, I cut the new part horizontally about an inch below the horizontal indentation as well as bit on the return edge at the door opening thus making it into an overlay panel. Having cut out all my existing body rust and the right prep, my overlay, after body adhesive and a small Bondo seam cover, is indistinguishable from the original body detail.
