Are the lower portion of the doors on your vehicle starting to bubble? If so, the rot is probably worse than you think. By the time you see bubbles, there’s usually a lot of rust built up behind it. This area rusts out on most vehicles that are driven a lot. Salt and road debris are constantly thrown at them while driving, compromising the exterior of the door. Water makes its way through your door’s weatherstripping and pools in the bottom of the door, causing it to rust from the inside out. Any body panel taking this type of abuse from both sides is eventually going to break down and need to be replaced. The good news is that if you catch it in time, you can replace the lower door skin, or the lower door panel, instead of having to replace the entire door. All of our door skins and inner door panels are stamped steel. The stamping process starts with a 3D scan of an OEM part which produces an OEM-like fitment. The old panel will need to be cut out so that the new one can be welded in its place. Most panels have an EDP coating for additional corrosion protection. The e-coating leaves a black finish that can be scuffed and painted over. For best finishing results we recommend scuffing the e-coat, priming, and then top coating with an automotive grade paint. When replacing a lower door skin, we recommend using a door skin hammer for re-pinching the edge of the panel around the door shell. After installation, we also recommend coating the inside of the door with an innerpanel rustproofing or cavity wax to keep is sealed from future water pooling.Whether you need to replace the lower skin, the inner lower panel, or both, we have the parts that you’re looking for. Replace your rusted door bottom by ordering this 1997-2004 Dakota Lower Door Skin (Front Door) Driver Side from Raybuck Auto Body Parts today.

Good product, but received damaged. Of the two panels I ordered, one had 2 corners bent a little, and 2 pings along its length. The other had a huge 3″ curl on 1 corner, like it had been jammed in the box. Box itself was fine, undamaged, so shipper cannot be blamed for that. The box was not long enough for this product, so a cutout section of another box had been added. Probably after someone had slammed them in there trying to make them fit. Musta really rammed ’em home, because this is 22 gauge steel! Disappointed. Also, I could find no email with tracking numbers to let me know it was shipping, as their confirmation email had said to expect. It just showed up one day, 7 days after order. Ah well. There are worse things in the world, I suppose. No point crying over bent steel.

Scott, sorry to hear about the minor damage to the parts that you received. I can’t speak to what actually caused the damage, but that is unusual for our service. For the tracking number, did you happen to check your spam folder? Some spam filters pick this up.
