Description
Ford Super Duty Fuel Tank 40-Gallon Diesel
Replace your OEM steel tank with this 40-gallon Ford Super Duty fuel tank designed for 2000-2010 diesel pickups. This rear-mount polyethylene replacement eliminates the F350 fuel tank delamination issues that affect factory steel tanks. This tank fits Ford F350, F450, and F550 Super Duty trucks equipped with 6-bolt sending unit holes.
Solves Ford Fuel Tank Delamination
Ford 250 and Ford 350 fuel tank delamination occurs when the interior coating of factory steel tanks separates and flakes into the fuel system. This contamination clogs filters, damages injectors and causes costly repairs. Polyethylene tanks eliminate this risk entirely. The F250 fuel tank, F350 fuel tank and F550 fuel tank all use the same flawed steel construction and interior coating, making Super Duty diesel models from this era equally susceptible to delamination.
Ford 250 fuel tank delamination has been widely reported across the entire lineup, regardless of mileage. Replacing your tank before delamination occurs prevents expensive fuel system damage.

I have purchased 2 tanks, I have 2- 2002 F550s with delamination issues. Perfect fit. Ford should of done this to begin with.

Nothing wrong with the tank itself. What they fail to explain clearly is that your stock 6 hole sending unit WILL NOT fit this tank (diameter of original sending unit is much bigger) and you must spend an additional $300 to get their sending unit. I didn’t have time to wait for the sending unit and couldn’t make the tank work for my 2005 F350. I wound up getting a different tank that would actually fit and work with my sending unit.
