The rear wheel openings on your vehicle are constantly sprayed with salt and road debris as you drive. There’s a good chance that mud is getting stuck up in there as well. It’s only a matter of time before the mix of water, salt, and mud causes corrosion to form. Before you know it, you see the dreaded paint bubbles starting to form around the lip of the wheel arch. The good news is that if you catch it in time, you can sometimes replace just the area of the arch that’s rusting out. If paint is already falling off, and you’re able to poke your finger through the side of your vehicle, you may need to replace the entire wheel arch and possibly the inner wheelhouse. Whether the rear wheel opening on your vehicle is just starting to bubble, or is completely rusted out, we have the wheel arch repair panels to help you fix your rust problem.

All of our wheel arch patch panels are stamped steel. The stamping process starts with a 3D scan of an OEM part which produces an OEM-like fitment. The old panel will need to be cut out so that the new one can be welded in its place.

For most trucks, if you’re not as worried about the appearance, you can usually slip these arches over top of your existing panel and secure them with an adhesive like Silaprene. If doing this, we still highly recommend cutting out as much of the rust as possible, and sealing the rusted area with a rust-inhibiting paint, like ZeroRust, prior to installing the new arch.

Each panel has a protective (EDP, Galvanized, etc.) coating for additional corrosion protection. The e-coating leaves a black finish that can be scuffed and painted over. For best finishing results we recommend scuffing the e-coat, priming, and then top coating with an automotive grade paint.

Whether you need to replace the whole wheel arch or just a portion of it, we have the parts that you’re looking for. Replace your rusted wheel arch by ordering this 2002-2008 Dodge Full Size Pickup Outer Rear Wheelhouse (Fleetside Only) Driver Side from Raybuck Auto Body Parts today.

Wish it came with the inner part of the wheel well. It a bit of a pain welding it in but it worked great for the rust repair.

If you are repairing your Rams wheel arch you will need this piece. This outer wheel arch fits great, just cut out the old and grind smooth the inner wheel arch lip, clamp the new arch in and line up your outer panel and if everything fits nice. Then weld in the arch. This panel is a must for the proper repair. Great product guys!

Questions and answers

Yes, these insert behind the outer wheel arch and replace the piece that would be part of the wheel well where it attaches to the outer panel. These are pretty good panels too, used them on a 2004 Ram. They are a pain to change properly but what panel isn't?

A Yep. Behind the outside panel are two other panels, the outer and inner wheel arch. My 02 was basically disintegrated at the wheel wells so I replaced the inner, outer, and the outside panel. Solid pieces and exactly as advertised.
