I ordered Auveco 1001 Seam Sealer. I specifically told the sales rep that I do “old school” automotive restorations and didn’t want the HUD brand, and if they didn’t have the Auveco Seam Sealer in stock they should cancel the order. I received the HUD brand anyway. I’m very unhappy with this purchase! I subsequently purchased the Auveco Sealer from another source. Won’t buy from these guys again.

Michael, I’m sorry that you were not satisfied with your purchase. I found your order and see that it included a note about Auveco, but the warehouse must have overlooked it. We’ve tested both and found that they work equally as well, so we interchange them depending on availability. What is it that you do not like about the HUD brand?

    • Michael

I didn’t receive the product I ordered, even after I specified to the order taker I wanted Auveco and he assured me it was in stock. Listen to the phone recording… duh! Typical modern day service!

Michael, I already apologized as our warehouse made the error. I did listen to the call and heard your request, and the order taker listened to you as well and entered the order correctly. This is a process problem, not a customer service issue, and I’ve addressed it. You didn’t answer my question, though. I would simply like to know why you prefer Auveco seam sealer over HUD seam sealer. Have you had problems with the HUD brand?

  2. after applying how long does this product take to dry naturally to a hardness where it can be sanded down and painted? Does this product only come in a tube design where it has to be used in a caulking gun or do you sell it in tub where it can be applied with a spackle blade?

A Seam sealer usually never gets sanded , more for sealing interior body panels or very small exterior gaps Smooth out with thinner and a brush. Drying - Skins over in few hours, fully cured in a few days. You may want to use glazing putty with hardener for quicker, sandable results < 30 minutes
