Description

This door skin, Driver side fits: 1950-1966 Volkswagen Beetle (1200/1300)This is a Brazilian OEM skin that would need to be trimmed below the door handle to fit 1965-1966 models. The window opening area of this skin is meant for 1950-1964 models, as 1965-1966 models had a slightly wider opening. This 1950-1966 Volkswagen Beetle Door Skin, Driver’s Side fits 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966 Volkswagen Beetle. Are the lower portion of the doors on your vehicle starting to bubble? If so, the rot is probably worse than you think. By the time you see bubbles, there’s usually a lot of rust built up behind it. This area rusts out on most vehicles that are driven a lot. Salt and road debris are constantly thrown at them while driving, compromising the exterior of the door. Water makes its way through your door’s weatherstripping and pools in the bottom of the door, causing it to rust from the inside out. Any body panel taking this type of abuse from both sides is eventually going to break down and need to be replaced. The good news is that if you catch it in time, you can replace the lower door skin, or the lower door panel, instead of having to replace the entire door. All of our door skins and inner door panels are stamped steel. The stamping process starts with a 3D scan of an OEM part which produces an OEM-like fitment. The old panel will need to be cut out so that the new one can be welded in its place. Each panel has a protective (EDP, Galvanized, etc.) coating for additional corrosion protection. The e-coating leaves a black finish that can be scuffed and painted over. For best finishing results we recommend scuffing the e-coat, priming, and then top coating with an automotive grade paint. When replacing a lower door skin, we recommend using a door skin hammer for re-pinching the edge of the panel around the door shell. After installation, we also recommend coating the inside of the door with an innerpanel rustproofing or cavity wax to keep is sealed from future water pooling.Whether you need to replace the lower skin, the inner lower panel, or both, we have the parts that you’re looking for. Replace your rusted door skin by ordering this 1950-1966 Volkswagen Beetle Door Skin, Driver’s Side from Raybuck Auto Body Parts today.
