Cross-reference Chart for Pickup Truck Bed Size Dimensions
Manufacturers typically change bed sizes when they introduce a new model year. This used to be straightforward when there were only two options – short bed and a long bed. This simple division has slowly changed over the years with the addition of newer cab styles, such as the extended cab and crew cab, and now manufacturers typically offer several bed lengths. Having a wider selection can be nice, but it can also cause problems when getting ready to purchase repair panels for your truck’s bed. If you’re not sure exactly what size your truck’s bed is, use the following reference table to help you figure it out. We’ve included as many dimensions as we’ve been able to find, but if you can help fill in any of the gaps please email us at service@raybuck.com.

I have a GMC Sierra 2006 with 6’5” bed. Is there any other truck that takes the same size hard tonneau cover? Box size is same for 1999-2006 Sierra.
I have a picture of the top of a 1997 Chevy with a rust problem but don’t see any repair panels to fix this. Can I send you a picture and maybe you can help me to find this section.
Hey Barry, sure, you can send the pics to service@raybuck.com.
Do you happen to know if there are any other trucks that share a bed size with 96 Ford F250 short bed crew cab? I’ve heard that certain Chevys do, but didn’t see anything on your chart…
I’m trying to find a camper shell compatible with my 2006 Toyota Tacoma with a 6 foot bed mine is 76″L 63″ or 64″ W not 77″ by 65″W ty
I have a camper shell in Ahwahnee ca that measures 63w by 76l
Got a Leonard aluminum cap with all bubble windows and slider and latch door that measures at 80″ x 65″ ..I’m in NC..what will the camper top I have fit on..
Anyone know of a source for dimensions that include wheel wells? I need to know the width between wheel wells and their inside height. I’m looking for info on a 1990 Ford F150 Ext. Cab. 4.9L Manual 5-Speed 2WD. I’ve been asked to develop SketchUp drawings for bed drawers but can’t complete them to dimension without this data. I have no vehicle to measure from.
Try the SEMA Garage (https://www.semagarage.com/).
I’ve got a 2013 Ram 1500 with the 5.7’ bed. Would a 6.5’ bed work as a replacement?
I do not believe so.
No, the extra length is in front of the rear wheels; between the wheels and cab.
I have a 1990 Dodge Ram D150 6.5′ bed and it measures 66″ W x 77″ L inside the rails. The 66″ W measurement is at the cab AND at the tailgate
I have a Dodge 2004 3500. The front and back measurements are different ! You have no measurements for the rear.
Do you have those dimensions , at the cab and at the tailgate ?
Hi will a newer bed fit on my 08 ram 1500 4 door crew cab.
Thanks
It may but the body lines will be different. Beds that fit your Ram would be from 2002-2008.
hello, will a 1991 toyota pu long bed 2 wheel fit a 1983 toy 4 wheel long bed? body lines do not matter, just need the bed to fit
Does anyone know what body dimensions changed on a Frontier king cab after 2013? I want to see if a canopy from a 2012 will fit on a 2020. The canopy dealer says some dimensions changed.
Hi All
Your 79-91 Flareside inside measurements state 81inch long to 63inch wide.
(Those are the outside dimensions) Inside is size is 78.5inch Long 54inch wide
I have 5 of them, Great site for cross-referencing bed sizes for camper shells
Thanks for the correction. We’ll update the chart to reflect this.
Can you tell me which pickup beds will work on a 1985 Toyota 4×4 other than the 1984-1995 Toyota Long Beds? Can’t find an OE long-bed for it that isn’t rusted out. So wondering which other vehicle types might work so we can look in that direction.
Thanks,
Keith
Sorry Keith, all info we have is for the stock beds.
I had an 1984 Toyota 4×4 long box and I mounted one from a 1992 Toyota LB and bolted one perfectly and everything lined up well. Plus , the newer box doesn’t have that crazy two part lower seam that always rusts out. Hope this may help you out. Thanks
Where are the VOLKSWAGEN pickups?
Hi Wayne. If you have any dimensions for the VW pickups please send them over and we’ll include them. Thanks
This chart is great for trying to figure what canopies fit other trucks as I have a ’90 Toy P/U and these shells are hard to find in my area. After seeing this chart and measuring my own bed, I noticed that your detentions for my truck are in the incorrect column. The outside of my bed measured exactly what you have listed for the inside. Just thought you should know.
Thanks for the feedback Adam. What were the dimensions that you have from your truck for both the length and width, inside and outside? We’ll doublecheck that and get it updated.
The outside of my bed measured 60″W x 76″L. I have not measured the inside yet.
Hey Adam. I have a 95’ Toyota pickup. And you’re right about it being hard to find anything that fits our size bed. But you’re wrong about the chart. My bed is also 76×60. But if you look again, the chart states that 76×60 is the outside dimensions.
Hi why is it that no one makes bed floor repair panels for the97-03 F-150 ford trucks?
Thanks Rob Gafner
Hi Rob. That’s a good question that I don’t have an answer to. Years ago we used to have access to bed floor repair panels, but the problem was that the ribbing was usually off, so they were discontinued. I’m not sure why this seems to be such a hard part to match up.
Looks like the truck beds are real close to the same size as the new ones compared to the old ones.
So why do the new trucks look so massive?
I won’t buy a new one because I don’t want to carry a step ladder so I can climb into it.
Is there a version of this chart that includes the wheel wells? For example, what’s the dimension between the wells? and how far from the cab to the start of the wells? How far from the back of the wells to the tailgate? Height of the wheel wells?
Thanks for a great reference. I’m looking to design some equipment that will be truck-bed mounted and we will have to account for clearance on the wheel wells, but I am struggle to find this information.
Hi Doug,
We don’t have that info posted anywhere, but it would be good to add. If you look at some of the links that we included, they will take you to some of the manufacturer’s spec sheets. The spec sheets have a number of the dimensions that you’re looking for.
Thanks, Steve
Very nice reference. I was looking all over the net for exactly this. Thank you.
Great chart. Exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I think there may be some numbers transposed from the source.
On the Chevy/GMC standard bed (6.5′ box) section (Silverado/Sierra, all years) you have an inside length of 68″ which is actually the length of the short (5′ 8″) bed. The outside length looks accurate but I’m pretty sure the inside should be 77~78″.
Conversely, the short bed (5’8″ bed) stepside section, has the 77~78″ dimensions that I believe to be of the standard bed.
Thanks for the catch Mark. We’ll get this corrected.
